SRIJAN

A Cultural Organization

MAHALAYA”……an auspicious occasion prior to Durga Puja, has a great importance in the life of the Bengalees. The dawn of the day sows the seed of that feeling of the “Puja” in the hearts of Crores of the Bengalees. The musical programme transmitted by All India Radio has been mixed up in the blood of each and every Bengalees. The chanting of SriChandi mantras by Birendra Krishna Bhadra and the beautiful melodious music of Pankaj Mallik and the lyrics of Bani Kumar creates an wonderful effect…mixed up with the first rays of the Sun….. “Baajlo tomaar aalor benu, maatlo je bhuban……..”

The cultural organization “Srijan” started its journey in the year 1997, with a programme organized on the dawn of Mahalaya; with a view to walk against the normal cultural trend. A few culturally aware and interested folks formed this organization “Srijan”….means creation, created with utmost dedication and enthusiasm.

Today “Srijan” has completed a long journey of eleven years with success and full co-operation from the mass; with a contribution to the society of culture.

“Sarad Barane Srijan” is the main programme organized by this group every year on the dawn of Mahalaya. Every year during the programme, various new artists are given opportunity to launch themselves in the world of culture. One veteran artist or contributor in the cultural field is honoured during the cultural programme organized on the auspicious day of Mahalaya.
